Myrcene
Myrcene
Myrcene (beta-myrcene) is an acyclic monoterpene that is one of two isomers, although alpha-myrcene does not occur in nature. Beta-myrcene is considered one of the more common terpenes in cannabis flowers and can exist in relatively high quantities.
Myrcene is commonly known for its relaxing and sedating effects, although its anti-inflammatory properties shouldn't be overlooked. Myrcene does appear to exist in higher concentrations in Indica varieties. Many consider myrcene capable of increasing the psychoactive effects of THC.
